Mark Ormerod had a night to forget as Worthing crashed out of the FA Trophy 2-0 in their second qualifying replay away to Stamford.

The former Albion goalkeeper was at fault for both goals as the Lincolnshire side booked a trip to Boreham Wood in the next round.

Worthing joint-boss Danny Bloor said: "Our goalkeeper had a poor evening. Stamford had two shots at goal all game and you have to point the finger at Mark."

The Rebels bossed the early stages with Stafford Browne (twice), Danny Davis and Shaun Grice all going close but they fell behind on 37 minutes.

Ben Andrews had an effort cleared off the line just before the break and Davis had a goal disallowed for offside midway through the second period.

Stamford grabbed a second 19 minutes from time and Worthing's miserable night was completed when Stewart Holmes was sent off for foul and abusive language on 89 minutes.

Bognor brushed County League side Rye and Iden United 6-0 to reach the third round of the Sussex Senior Cup.

After making one of the longest trips possible in this competition, the visitors fell behind inside three minutes when Ben Johnson broke down the left and played an inviting ball into the middle where Jamie Howell rifled home from 20 yards.

Three minutes later Rye were two down when a Dan Beck cross was helped back inside the box by Darren Budd and finished off at the near post by Ben Watson.

With 17 minutes on the clock it was three as Beck fed Luke Nightingale and his cross was rifled home by Howell. Watson added a fourth before half-time after Nightingale's long range effort was parried by John Gardner.

Johnson slotted home for 5-0 a minute into the second half after Watson's cross was miscontrolled at the far post by a visiting defender and the sixth came in the 65th minute when Richard Hudson picked up a throw, danced his way inside the box, rounded Gardner and rifled home into the empty net.

Hastings United safely progressed into the third round with a comfortable 3-0 win at Hailsham Town.

Two goals in the first half and another early in the second period booked a meeting with fellow Ryman League side Worthing in the next round.

Hastings opened the scoring through Nima Cham with a slick counter-attack in the 19th minute and doubled their advantage 12 minutes later when Sam Adams coolly slotted the ball home after being sent through on goal by Shaun Loft.

The third goal came within nine minutes of the start of the second half when Wes Lopez curled a 25-yard free kick around the wall and into the bottom corner of the net. The only downside for Hastings was the sending off of substitute Simon Rowland for foul language ten minutes from the end.

Hastings have put teenage striker Sam Adams on a two-year contract.

Chairman Dave Walters said: "He is our leading scorer, only 18 years old and very quick.

"He's a goalscorer and people start showing interest. It is a gamble but one we think is worth taking with him."

Horsham bounced back from their weekend defeat at Lymington and New Milton with a hard fought 2-1 Ryman division one victory over Dulwich Hamlet at Queen Street.

Dulwich almost took the lead in the 21st minute when Miguel De Souza headed a corner against the crossbar.

Horsham's best opening of the first half came in the 41st minute when Matt Geard forced an excellent save from Paul Seuke.

The Hornets took the lead in the 57th minute when Andy Howard headed home a well worked corner at the far post.

Dulwich equalised in the 67th minute when De Souza was up-ended in the box and Lee Richardson slotted home the resulting penalty.

Horsham hit the winner two minutes later when a Tom Graves cross was flicked on by Jamie Taylor and David Fleming bravely dived in to head home for his second goal in as many games since rejoining the club.
