Leon Knight today reiterated his commitment to Albion's cause. The striker has put his fall-out with manager Mark McGhee behind him and would be happy to discuss a new contract.

Knight recently revealed to The Argus his desire to settle down with the Seagulls.

That was before McGhee dropped him for the trip to Stoke because of the way he reacted to being substituted in the last home game against Wolves.

Knight apologised for his behaviour and is now hoping for a recall against Crystal Palace at Withdean on Sunday.

"Everything is fine," he said. "I had a chat with him (McGhee) and all that was sorted. I've just been getting on with training.

"I haven't got time to dwell on these things. If it drags on then it brings everyone down.

"It dragged on too far and there was no need to drag it on even longer, so we just sat down and spoke about it for 45 minutes to an hour."

Knight, out of contract at the end of the season, continued: "If I get offered a new contract I won't say no. We'll sit down and see what it's about.

"I've got no reason to disrespect the club or disrespect anyone and if they do offer me a contract then I'll sit down and talk.

"Hopefully they will now that we have got the stadium. If they don't that's football."

Knight scored from the spot for the reserves at Aldershot on Wednesday.

McGhee must now decide whether to bring back Albion's regular penalty taker against Palace at the expense of Jake Robinson or Colin Kazim-Richards.

"I needed that run-out because I haven't played for nearly two-and-a-half weeks," Knight said.

"It's up to the manager. I feel like I want to be in the team but that is only my opinion.

"I'm always willing to be put on the spot and I'm happy taking a penalty if we get one. It's an extra chance to get a goal.

"We haven't had a penalty this season. In fact, I think that was our first penalty in the reserves. Hopefully we can get a few more, because we've had a few shouts."

Knight and his team-mates have the added incentive of a free weekend in Italy on offer to the Albion player scoring the winning goal, courtsey of club sponsors Donatello in association with Aossa Travel.
