Regarding your article ("Homes crisis for families", The Argus, November 15), the 10,000 odd empty homes in East Sussex should be compulsorily purchased and made into low-cost homes for working-class families.

Lots of people would be glad to move to other areas to get a home of their own. Empty houses are a waste of space.

On another point, if Steve John and Hove Up think the proposed King Alfred towers look vibrant and exciting (Letters, November 15), they should have gone to Spec Savers.

To everybody else round here, being a couple of hundred yards away from the site of this proposed monstrosity, they look like they have been blown up, gutted and about to fall.
