I would like to pay a warm tribute to the cast members and backstage crew who enchanted a capacity audience at the Dome last Sunday with a musical spectacular in aid of The Martlets Hospice.

The performers are all members of local musical theatre groups and, under the musical and artistic direction of Simon Gray, they gave magnificent performances which were enthusiastically received by the audience.

The stage was beautifully lit and the sound quality excellent. All those taking part in the show and backstage gave their services for free to support the work of The Martlets.

My thanks go to all the local businesses which sponsored the event and to the show's producer and organisers - Robert Blass, Corinne Blass and David Otway.

Not only is the city blessed with a wealth of artistic talent but there is generosity of spirit on the part of individuals in giving so much of their time to support a local charity.

Many thanks also to everyone who attended.

-Roger French, chairman, The Martlets Hospice
