Can we hope that the campaign to keep pavements clear for pedestrians will extend to the south of Portslade Station (The Argus, November 12)?
It appears that the shops on the west side have a legal right to put street furniture in front of their premises.
However, according to a spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council, this is a public right of way.
Although it is illegal to drive over the pavement, certain stores are using their shop fronts as a car park.
This is on a dangerous junction with Vale Road. Traffic wardens have to catch the culprits in the act of driving over the kerb.
