I wish to publicly express my appreciation to all my Royal British Legion colleagues who helped make the Remembrance Day Service at Hove War Memorial and Hove Parish Church such a success.
Honoured by the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress of Brighton and Hove, they carried out their duties smartly and with efficiency and dignity.
Helped by excellent music played by the Boys' Brigade, we all marched with pride to the church, which was packed.
I have attended many Remembrance Day services since returning from Burma at the end of the Second World War and this year's service was one of the most meaningful.
I also wish to pay tribute to all the people who supported this important occasion in our national calendar, which makes me feel proud to be a staunch member of Hove Royal British Legion and the Burma Star Association.
-Jim Marshall, MBE, OPM, Hove
