Leslie Claride (Letters, November 14) criticises Brighton for having too much traffic and expensive parking compared to Crawley, where she prefers to shop.

It is always strange to hear motorists complain about traffic because this means there are too many motorists.

If parking in the city was cheaper, does Ms Claride think there would be less traffic?

Let's not lose sight of the fact that Brighton and Hove's roads cannot cope with 21st-Century gridlocks.
