I have been following the long-running saga of the Albion's stadium bid over the years but didn't feel strongly about it until John Prescott overturned the advice of two planning inspectors for political expediency.
The planning laws designed to protect Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) have been dealt an ugly blow by the Deputy Prime Minister.
Anyone who lives near one will now be constantly in fear that any powerful enough politician can overturn the laws which protect AONBs on a whim.
Lewes District Council is doing a magnificent service in challenging Mr Prescott's decision, which rode roughshod over his own planning laws.
