Richard Pacquette scored twice as Worthing returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory at Harrow Borough in the Westview League Cup.

But it was the manner of the performance which delighted joint manager Danny Bloor following Saturday's disappointing 2-1 reverse at Windsor and Eton.

Bloor said: "The Westview Cup away to Harrow Borough is not the most attractive fixture but the boys showed a lot of mental attitude and I was very pleased."

The Rebels made five changes to the line-up and gave a debut to Brahim Elouhmani, who had a spell with them at the start of last season.

Pacquette, recalled to the starting line-up, broke the deadlock on 18 minutes from the penalty spot following a foul on Andy Alexander.

The Rebels continued to dominate but had to wait until the 66th minute before doubling their advantage when Pacquette scored his 18th goal of the season with an angled shot from just inside the penalty aread.

Harrow pulled one back from the penalty spot through James Bent on 78 minutes but Worthing were worthy winners.

They could even afford to give a debut to 16-year-old James Fraser in place of Pacquette for the last seven minutes.

James is the brother of Tommy, who is a scholar with Albion. Another youngster, Dave Leaver, played in goal and made two fine saves.

Bloor added: "It was a very pleasing performance and just what we needed after Saturday."

The Sussex Senior Cup tie between Hassocks and Horsham was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and will be replayed on January 31.
