Given the present "drought" conditions so often cited by Southern Water, I was amazed to read the article about the Queen's Park reservoir (The Argus, January 12).

Perhaps Southern Water's new managing director might explain to the public why a reservoir has been sold. Surely we need as much water storage as possible.

Why, if it was necessary to sell the land, didn't Southern Water tanker the 200,000 gallons of water away, to replenish, say, Ardingly or Bewl Water reservoirs?

If the water company can leave that much water behind, it is somewhat hypocritical for them to take the contractors to task.
