The recent garage blaze in Poets Corner, Hove (The Argus, December 24), led me to question the wisdom of allowing industrial units containing explosive chemicals to be sited in a densely-packed residential area.
Was Brighton and Hove City Council aware of the presence of acetylene cylinders at the New Malvern Garage in Westbourne Street and, if, so, had a proper risk assessment been carried out?
