I was pleased to read in The Argus that BBC Southern Counties Radio is relocating its headquarters back to Brighton.

The conversion of BBC Radio Sussex to BBC Southern Counties Radio, to add those Surrey listeners who do not listen to London radio stations and the move to Guildford, did not make sense to me.

It would be interesting to compare the number of listeners in the last year of a Brighton-based Radio Sussex to the present number of listeners of the Guildford-based Southern Counties Radio.

It would also be interesting to know whether those from Sussex, who must form the largest proportion of the station's listeners, would increase in number if the name is changed back to Radio Sussex.

Many other counties of a similar size retain their own BBC radio station.
