So the traders of Worthing's Royal Arcade are upset over moves by West Sussex County Council to outlaw "A" signs from outside their business premises.

For once, a council is doing something to benefit the community.

These signs are as big a nuisance as cars parked on pavements.

They restrict free movement by pedestrians and, in particular, those pushing wheelchairs and prams, as well as hindering disabled people.

Traders, if you want to advertise your businesses prominently, why not apply for permission to erect overhead signage?
