The jury in the Billie-Jo Jenkins murder trial is expected to start considering its verdict tomorrow.
Former deputy headteacher Sion Jenkins, 48, is accused of battering the 13-year-old to death.
It is claimed he lost his temper during a row at the family home in Hastings on February 15, 1997.
He allegedly covered up the attack by taking his two eldest daughters on a fake shopping trip to buy white spirit.
The judge, Mr Justice David Clarke, is still summing up in the case.
Jenkins, the former deputy head of William Parker School in Hastings, was convicted of murder in 1998 and jailed for life.
His conviction was quashed on appeal and he is now facing his second retrial for the murder after a jury failed to reach a verdict earlier this year.
Jenkins denies murder.
The trial continues.
