Before musicians DuCane and Cisco joined hip-hop band Shorty, they were in a band called IBS which they didn't realise stood for irritable bowel syndrome.
A good job then that the opportunity to join Shorty arose, so they could say goodbye to IBS forever.
Along the same lines as The Roots, Jurassic 5 and the now-defunct Stetsasonic, Shorty are a seven-piece collective with a sound that bounces from funk to rock.
Winners of the Diesel-U-Music Hip Hop Award 2002 and London winners of the Liveanduncut music awards, the band have appeared on MTV and MTV Base and in an international advertising campaign with Pepsi-Cola, giving UK old school hip-hop a bit of a boost.
Influences are wide-ranging from Led Zeppelin and RATM to Gangstarr, Stevie Wonder, Biggie, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest, Lauryn Hill, Sly And The Family Stone and Larry Graham.
Doors 10pm, tickets cost £5. Call 01273 684501.
