I have noticed Cityclean has reduced the number of items it collects in Brighton and Hove for recycling.
It used to accept aluminium foil and textiles and, while one can accept there is probably a better use for old clothing, I find it difficult to understand why the recycling of aluminium foil has been stopped, especially when it is widely used as packaging in the food industry.
Other councils seem to have put aluminium to good use. For every tonne Eastbourne Borough Council collects it receives a tree from the Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation (Alupro).
Come on, Cityclean, you should take a leaf out of Eastbourne's book.
