I usually use the Park & Ride facility at Withdean when I venture into Brighton. But when we came to an evening performance of Holiday On Ice show last week I parked in the Russell Square multi-storey car park.
On leaving, I discovered payment could only be made by credit or debit card. This was okay, and I did get a receipt from the machine, but nowhere on it is the amount I have been charged. There is a space marked "Gross Total" but it is blank, so I have no idea how much I have been charged.
There were no staff available to ask, the place seemed to be run without the benefit of humans and I consider this to be a very sneaky way of charging.
Is this Brighton's latest attempt to discourage visitors? If so, It will be very successful.
