I am upset to have received letters from Southern Water urging us to save water.

We know we are short of rain in the South-East. Yet the letters say the company approves of new developments and will find enough water for them.

This is just a way for it to make more profit and is a case of more water for new houses but not enough for us.

Fortunately, we have The Argus - a loud voice on our behalf - to help us keep things fair and square.

I am also relying on Brighton and Hove City Council's planning officers to make sure planning consent is only given to large, luxury tower blocks with an absolute condition they must have their own, separate water supply with an in-built desalination plant financed by whoever the developers are.
