I read with interest about the stance Brighton and Hove City Council is taking against Mike Tyson.
For me as a father and grandfather the position is clear - Mr Tyson should not even have been considered to be eligible to promote such an event.
Nor should he be allowed into this country. This is not just a women's issue. It is a concern for everyone who believes in respecting the equal rights of women.
Would the same people who would consider hiring such a person to promote an event also consider hiring Gary Glitter to promote a children's event when he is free?
Mr Tyson is certainly not a role model for the male members of my family and if I were to support such a venture, I'm sure the female members of my family would rightly be disgusted.
