Some Travellers do pay council tax and get very little except hassle in return.

Remember, just like you and me, travellers are human beings who deserve our respect.

Travellers have been victims of others as long as history has been recorded.

Brighton and Hove City Council need, and indeed are discussing the need for, permanent and temporary stopping places for Travellers.

If the council provided adequate spaces, there would be no need for travellers to park in other places.

Also, why was your correspondent driving on Marine Parade?

A home for people is a better use of this area than a car park for people who have not yet discovered public transport.

Next time you are down there or, indeed, anywhere you see travellers, why not stop and say hello. You can ask them why they are there.

I work with travellers and find them really pleasant people.

Travellers have a need for a place to stop without harrassment.
