I was interested to read Brighton and Hove City Council has paid out £5m to people who have tripped on Sussex pavements.
I am not at all surprised. In January 2000, my husband tripped and fell locally, breaking his leg.
He claimed damages from the council and received a large payment. All well and good. But, six years on, that pavement has never been repaired.
The council only has itself to blame.
