What a poor decision Brighton and Hove City Council took on February 23 in rejecting the Green Party's proposal for investment in a £200,000 Renewable Energy Fund.

That's not a vast sum in this day and age and Brighton is well-placed geographically to develop renewable energy options sourced from the sea and wind.

I would be interested to know why the suggestion was rejected.

It seems to me the Green Party is still the only political party producing serious, cost-effective ideas for change in relation to issues which adversely impact on our environment and climate change.

It's about time the council listened to its ideas, for which there is growing public support.
