I would love to see a proper recycling centre in Brighton, where there could be guided tours, an education centre funded by Brighton and Hove City Council, sculpture trails of recycled art and market stalls selling recycled arts and crafts.

This would be perfectly sited at Hollingdean with the proposed recycling facility adjoining the material recovery facility.

The waste transfer station could be built at Hangleton Bottom, which is much more suitable a site.

Firstly, it is bordered by the A27, not an infant school and, secondly, it is not on top of a groundwater protection zone.

Thirdly, it would avoid the need for articulated lorries to enter the centre of Brighton to bulk up and transfer waste, since it is right next to the A27.

We need a fun and artistic recycle facility to encourage Brighton and Hove to recycle, not a token gesture by Onyx to get their development planning permission.
