What a contrast. Two major new developments are at the planning stage, one on the King Alfred site in Hove and the other at Brighton Marina.
Marina site and they are stunning.
Brunswick Developments have come up with building designs which are dynamic yet easy on the eye.
The tower will still be the focal point of the plan. Complete with a public viewing gallery, it is sure to attract visitors from far and wide.
The other blocks have also been redesigned to create 850 apartments, of which 340 are affordable and are aimed at key workers.
Money will also be spent on transport links with the Palace Pier, which is essential in helping tidy up the area west of the marina.
I hope Brighton and Hove City Council approves these plans because there are few sites where accommodation can be provided without disturbing other residents.
This can only be a positive for Brighton and Hove in general and the marina in particular.
