An Oak Tree is a show which really can lay claim to being unique, as every performance features a new actor.
Brighton-based performer Tim Crouch (Shockheaded Peter) plays the role of the hypnotist, and every night he will "hypnotise" a different actor, who has never heard or seen the play before.
The oak tree of the title refers to a tree near the site of a traffic accident. A previously rational man loses his daughter in the crash and transfers his grief towards the tree, imagining the tree is his daughter.
The driver of the car is a stage hypnotist, someone used to dealing with fantasy and suggestion but after the accident he is limited to reality. The ex-realist and ex-fantasist are brought together when the father agrees to take part in the hypnotist's stage act.
As the actor uncovers the character, the father reveals the truth about the accident and the audience discovers all.
A truly fresh piece of theatre.
Starts: 8pm. Tickets: £10.
