It was very nice to read the congratulations of Simon Green (Letters, May 1) for supporting Shopmobility.
The £2,500 Sussex Freemasons were pleased to donate to Shopmobility was one of a number of donations made in the past 18 months to Sussex charities and which will exceed £500,000 by the middle of June.
However, Mr Green still shares with a lot of people the mistaken perception that we are a secret society. We are not. The Argus even sent a photographer to our annual meeting last year, when I made a presentation to the Brighton Eye Hospital.
