I find myself becoming increasingly exasperated at the way the present police force is run. I have a friend in Lancing who is afraid to leave home in the evenings.

The local shopkeepers and residents complain of the constant vandalism and general yobbery. The police response is to disperse the yobs with a buzzing device and call it Operation Save The Streets.

Yes, they may well disperse but only to regroup elsewhere and continue terrorising local people.

Sussex Police are also running Operations Scorn, Sunshine, and New York.

How much time was wasted dreaming up these absurd titles?

And what good are they when they only last a few days?

The police should be out enforcing the law every day. Oh, for some good old-fashioned policing.
