Three months ago, acting manager Neil Pringle announced major changes to BBC Southern Counties Radio's line-up which made him even less popular than Frank Gehry at a Hove tea party.

Two months since the schedules took effect, I, for one, congratulate him on revitalising the station. In particular, weekdays have improved considerably. Gordon Astley's wit and Tommy Boyd's genius are a welcome alternative to the blandness of recent years.

Just one minor niggle: Isn't it time to stop calling it the "new" sound of Sussex?
