The payment to Annette Sergeant is an insult to staff and every taxpayer in the county.
It appears to be totally unjustified and the lady concerned should be deeply embarrassed at accepting it.
But who is responsible for such decisions and how are they justified?
No doubt the Freedom of Information Act will allow us to find out how the NHS Trust was authorised to make this golden goodbye and, more importantly, who was involved.
They should be made to justify their actions or resign. It is unbelievable taxpayers' money can be used in such an irresponsible manner.
