I HOPE that the old site of the Civil Service sports ground on the A59 into York is the one earmarked for the new Manor School, and not the piece of land closer to the bypass.

I do know one thing. I bet Barratt and Persimmon homes are desperate for that piece of land. Imagine how many houses with tiny gardens they can build on there.

It is a shame many sports groups were forced out of the Civil Service facility before it was decided what was going to happen to the site, and it would be great if the school could move there - then at least it would have sports facilities there once more.

If it is not as I hope, and the plan is to use the site closer to the bypass backing on to Millfield Lane, will that mean they will open up Millfield Lane again to allow for the school traffic?

Everyone knows that traffic stands still on this part of the bypass in the morning, so it would be a huge headache for any parent trying to get their child to school on time, never mind adding to the problem.
