A 25-year-old man from Eastbourne died riding a motorcycle which collided with a lorry near Lewes this morning.
The A26 was closed after the crash near the junction with the A27 at Beddingham at 9.10am.
Sussex Police said a motorcycle had collided with a waste disposal lorry.
An air ambulance helicopter was called to treat the motorcyclist but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Witnesses are being sought to the collision or to a motorcycle or group of motorcycles being driven along this road at about that time."
