BURGLARY 5th In the area of Falmer Road, the lower storage area of a property was broken into, nothing taken. No forensic evidence and no further report from the surrounding area. VEHICLE CRIME 13th Westbrook car park, over night the two front wheels where removed form a car and two old wheels used to support the vehicle. No CCTV coverage of the area, the old wheels have been examined with no trace. CRIMINAL DAMAGE Nil PUBLIC PLACE VIOLENCE Nil News Good news. An excellent set of numbers for April, with no reports of any ASB in the area, or public violence, the two crimes that can have a major impact on residents, but that can not take away the importance of the two reported crimes. The group of young people that have been the cause of a number of reports to Police have moved away from the area. The reports of graffiti on the undercliff continue, a file has now been compiled by the police and working along side the Council graffiti team to find the offender and clean up the offensive matter. They would ask you all to report any sightings, so this issue which can affect a large group of people be stopped. Important News. As you will see, it is a new name at the top, (to some of you) due to a move around within the Force PCSO Ray Harrison has taken over Woodingdean. Chris in turn has moved to cover Saltdean along with his responsibility to Ovingdean and Rottingdean. He has been in the Deans from the start of the role and covered Saltdean with PCSO Allgood. Chis and Ray have very similar working practices and as such you will not see any changes. He asks that you report anything that you might consider “wrong” and ask your neighbours and friends to sign up to neighbourhood watch or this news letter in order to help and support the Community in which they live. His contact details are at the top of this page; please contact him in any way that is best for you. On a personal note, Chris will be having an operation this Saturday (15th May). The reported recovery time can be up to 8 weeks (he hopes not) as such he will be out of action for some time, so Ray will be back standing in his space until such time that he is back up and running. The best way to report anything is by sending an email to the Deans team via the Sussex Police web page, that way it will ensure that you will get a reply regardless if Ray or Chris are away.
