A man has been found unconcious in a city centre shopping area.
Officers were called to Dukes Lane, Brighton about 6am this morning.
Paramedics took the man, who had blood on his clothes, to Royal Sussex County Hospital.
It is currently unknown if the man was assaulted or suffered a heavy fall.
The street is cordoned off as forensic officers from Sussex Police look for traces of blood.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police confirmed the man is still currently unconcious.
