I would like to say a huge thank you to all the kindhearted readers who helped support the British Heart Foundation’s Annual Brighton Sea Swim in August 2009.

Thanks to all those who took part, we managed to raise more than £10,000, which will help the BHF to continue to invest in lifesaving research work and vital prevention and care programmes. The swim attracted more than 250 participants, which was fantastic, and it seemed everyone had a great day out. This year we are hoping the event will be even bigger and better, and raise a massive £20,000 for the BHF.

This year’s Brighton Sea Swim will take place on Saturday, August 21, and is sure to be a fantastic day out for all. Registration is now open. Please visit www.bhf.org.uk/brighton for more information.

We’re hoping the day will help to raise essential funds to support the BHF in its fight against heart and circulatory disease – the nation’s biggest killer – as well as providing people with a fun day in Brighton.
