A woman found dead in a police cell at Worthing has been named.
Sharon McLaughlin, 32, from Worthing, died at Worthing Custody Centre, off Durrington Lane, on Sunday afternoon.
Sussex Police said officers found her unconscious at about 1.35pm. Paramedics pronounced her dead at 2pm.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on Monday but failed to reveal a cause of death.
Further tests are being carried out.
Miss McLaughlin had been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Worthing on Saturday afternoon.
Her family formally identified her body today.
Sussex Police's professional standards department and the Independent Police Complaints Commission are investigating her death.
