With his sharp claws, quick reflexes and bigger body mass, the squirrel was always going to win this fight.
It was almost like a boxing match as the pair first stared each other out before the bushy-tailed creature edged slowly forward, forcing the bird back.
Suddenly the squirrel went on the attack, his claws and teeth lunging towards his feathered opponent.
The bird managed to escape, leaving the squirrel to tuck into a small pile of nuts.
He then ran off to find his next meal.
