A driver has been arrested following a crash which left a man with serious injuries.

The 51-year-old driver of a black Mitsubishi L200 pickup, from Crawley, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

The incident happened on Saturday at 7.50am on the A264 at Horsham.

A 68-year-old man, from Horsham, was airlifted to hospital following the collision on the southbound carriageway between the Moorhead and Faygate roundabouts.

His blue Ford Focus rolled and came to rest on the opposite carriageway.

He was taken to Kings College Hospital in London with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 51-year-old driver has been bailed until August 15.
