A night-time festival will attract tens of thousands of people.
Organisers of White Night, which celebrates the turning back of the clocks, hope this year’s event will allow residents and visitors the chance to reclaim the streets of Brighton and Hove.
After drawing up initial plans, they have promised to create a wide range of experiences and events for one night only which will be unique to the city.
Up to 30,000 people are expected to attend the free festival which will last from 6pm to 7am.
This year’s event, which is being organised by Brighton and Hove City Council and the city’s Arts Commission, will take place on October 30.
Cultural centres, such as the Royal Pavilion and Prince Regent Swimming Pool, will be open throughout the night.
David Smith, the council’s cabinet councillor for culture, said it should be an “extraordinary night”.
