Having found an unwanted lump last autumn I became anxious. My father has had prostate cancer, my brother testicular cancer and my cousin died from the latter aged just 27.

My GP was super and I soon had an appopintment with a urologist at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Mr John.

Following a scan I was relieved to have a non-malignant cyst.

Last year, Mr John diagnosed 97 cases of cancer, and in the previous 12 months it was 121 cases. Mr John, Mr Cheema and their team save many lives. Many pop stars come and go, as do over-hyped footballers – here’s to celebrating the dedication of brilliant minds.
