Firefighters were called to Pelham Square in Brighton about 2am this morning.
A scooter in a parking bay surrounding the grassy area was set alight.
The fire spread and severely damaged two nearby cars.
All three vehicles are believed to be write-offs.
It followed two similar incidents in the city only hours previous.
Firefighters were called to a motorcycle on fire near a cycle path on the north side of Preston Park about midnight.
Crew members from Roedean station were called to land near Brighton racecourse about 11.30pm yesterday to deal with a motorcycle alight.
Both fires were extinguished within 15 minutes.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police confirmed the incidents are not being linked.
