Two mothers believe they are the first in Britain to organise specially themed children’s parties.
Fiona Parker and Jo Theobold, who both live in Hove, had the idea after struggling to hire child-sized furniture and decorations for their own children.
Fiona, 35, said: “At six-years-old, both our daughters love dressingup and those magical touches which create such excitement with their friends. But to buy all the good quality decorative items for one use is very costly.”
Both women were returning from work after starting a family and decided to pool their skills.
Fiona has a background in event planning while Jo, 35, was a graphic designer.
They have poured their own money into the business, called Tea Cups & Tiaras, and have officially launched the company after more than eight months of preparation.
Parents can choose from five themes – Princesses, Pirates, Fairies, Knights and Mermaids – or a combination of two for a mixed party.
They also offer a bespoke service if children want a different theme. For more information, visit www.teacupsandtiaras.
