Campaigners will perform a public reading of a play about the American military jail Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
Supporters of Omar Deghayes, a 36-year-old Saltdean man held under no charge at the facility for almost four years, will join the Brighton-based Committee Against Criminal Renditions to read "Guantanamo: Honor sic Bound to Defend Freedom" next weekend.
The play, by Victoria Brittain and Gillian Slovo, tells the stories of four UK residents jailed there and explores the issue of terror suspects being detained without due process.
Louise Purbrick, spokeswoman for the campaign group, said: "Guantanamo is an 'anomaly' according to Tony Blair but complicity with torture carried out by the US is British policy, albeit undeclared."
Councillors and MPs will attend the event at the New Venture Theatre in Bedford Place, Brighton, next Saturday at 8pm.
