The last day of the summer holidays was an eventful one for a six-year-old boy who had to be rescued from a tree by firefighters.
The young boy had been enjoying climbing trees with friends in Blakers Park, Brighton, when he fell seven feet, landing on his back wedged between two tree trunks yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters from Preston Circus used a special hydraulic ram to prise the trucks apart, enabling them to gently free the boy who was trapped by his hips.
Paramedics treated the youngster for cuts and bruises.
The tree was not damaged during the rescue operation.
