I have read so many bad reports of the Royal Sussex County Hospital I would like to sing its praises for a change.

I have recently recovered from an open heart operation by a wonderful surgeon, Mr Lewes, and his team. I cannot praise enough the treatment, kindness and care I received from all those who work so hard at the hospital. The nurses, male and female, are so kind, nothing is too much trouble. I was in hospital 16 days and there were many funny incidents. An elderly man of over 90 with the start of Alzheimer’s would not leave his attachments alone. He was amused when I told him he was a naughty boy. A very kind and patient male nurse gave him a piece of green wire tape knotted about 100 times which kept him quiet for a long time.
