Furniture supergiant Ikea is considering a move to Brighton and Hove.

Sweden’s biggest export has been looking at sites in the city on which to build a new store.

Business leaders have welcomed the interest which could bring scores, if not hundreds of jobs, to the area.

Ikea confirmed it was searching for potential sites in the city, as well as West Sussex – with Crawley believed to be the most likely candidate.

Yesterday, the company refused to rule out the possibility of building two stores in West Sussex and in Brighton and Hove.
