A man was robbed at knifepoint and dragged to a cashpoint.

The 23-year-old was ordered to hand over his phone, money and cash card in Dyke Road, Brighton, at about 3.30am on Sunday.

The robber then demanded his PIN number before leading him by the hand to a cashpoint outside the Co-op shop off the Seven Dials roundabout.

The victim, from Worthing, was made to wait nearby while his attacker took his money.

The suspect was black, between 18 and 20, about 5ft 10in, with a West Indian accent.

He was wearing a knee-length black jacket with the hood up, and black gloves.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: The robbery is under investigation by detectives, who are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Dyke Road area around the time of the offence.

“Police community support officers are assisting detectives with gathering CCTV footage and are conducting house-to-house enquiries.”

The suspect was last seen walking away along Bath Street, towards the railway station.
