Prisoners are smacking their lips at the prospect of a Christmas dinner behind bars - with some reportedly getting banged up just for the occasion.

Inmates at Lewes Prison can look forward to roast turkey and the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding.

Prison bosses say they are staying within their budget of £2.10 per prisoner per day - but this has not prevented them gaining a reputation for a good spread.

Inmates at Lewes can have a television in their cell subject to behaviour.

Meals are taken inside cells, which can mean eating alongside a cellmate and an in-cell toilet.
