A man appeared in court this morning accused of the attempted murder of his terminally ill father.
Joseph Peachy, 48, of Badlesmere Road, Eastbourne, is accused of trying to suffocate his father, Albert Peachy, at Eastbourne District General Hospital on Monday night.
Peachy was also charged with assaulting two police officers and a member of hospital staff, and a public order offence.
He was remanded in custody by magistrates and will appear at Lewes Crown Court on a date which has yet to be fixed.
