A man was treated for smoke inhalation and a family pet killed in a house fire.
Fire crews from Hastings and Battle were called to a fire in Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards at around 2.30pm this afternoon.
A 50-year-old man was taken to Conquest Hospital as a precautionary measure while a pet dog died in the blaze which started in the first floor of the two storey terrace house.
Firefighters have said the fire started accidentally.
