A Brighton man sold pirate DVDs on eBay worth nearly £256,000.
Gary Finch, of Burstead Close, has now been jailed for six months.
Sussex Police, working with the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), were alerted to Finch’s dealings after being contacted by an eBay customer who purchased a DVD in good faith.
They were being advertised as a genuine product being shipped from within the UK. On arrival, a number of foreign postmarks were noticeable and it was clear that the DVDs were fake.
Finch, 45, was jailed for six months after admitting three counts of importation of counterfeit DVDs and three counts of money laundering.
